Clenton “Steve” Croker Stephens 92 of Klamath Falls, Oregon passed away peacefully in his sleep with his family by his side on June 8th, 2018. Steve was born on July 3rd, 1925 in Dallas, Texas to Clenton Croker Stephens Sr. and Willie Daniel Ingram. Steve enlisted in the U.S. Navy in May 1943 and was honorably discharged December 1945 after proudly serving our great country.
Steve joined the Klamath Falls Fire Department as a firefighter and retired as a battalion chief. He later opened a thrift store and performed as an auctioneer for many estate sales. If you saw him in town you could easily recognize him proudly wearing his WWII Navy veteran’s hat. Steve was very active in the Klamath Falls Elks and was a past president of the Roaming Elks, the local V.F.W. Post 1383 and American Legion Post-8. Steve had a great positive attitude in everything he did and loved life to the max. Steve was an inspiration to many and he will be deeply missed.
Steve is survived by his, loving partner of 13 years Bobbie Pease; daughter, Luree P. Ponta; his son, Daniel A. Stephens, including numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren located in the U.S. and Europe.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents Clenton Croker Stephens Sr. and Willie Daniel Ingram, and his loving daughter Lucinda LaPaglia.
Memorial services will be held with military honors on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 11:00a.m. at Veteran’s Memorial Park, located downtown Klamath Falls with a reception to follow at the Elks Lodge, located upstairs at 601 Main St. #3 in Klamath Falls. A very special thank you to the Klamath County Fire District 1.
In lieu of flowers charitable donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
Private interment will be held at a later date.
